About this race: The race to replace retiring state Rep. Lynn Schindler, R-Otis Orchards, has featured some of the fiercest campaigning so far. Republican Matt Shea led a five-candidate pack in the primary, followed by Democratic challenger Tim Hattenburg, both of whom captured more ballots than contenders with greater name-recognition.
Constituency: Main population area is the Greater Valley, including the City of Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake and Millwood.
