Forest Project Manager IV.
Work with forestry staff on and off reservation lands managing forest lands, leading prescribed burns, and doing research studies. This will include developing annual scopes of work and budgets, grant applications, forest
management plans and coordinating field work.
Bachelor's degree in a Forest Resources. Master's degree in Forestry or related field preferred and ten years of experience required; Supervisory training with at least 8 years supervisory experience required; Public speaking experience of a minimum of 40 hours; Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel programs; Proficiency in using Timber Cruising Software for calculating forest stand inventories and timber stand assessments values; Experience setting up timber sales, cruising timber and managing logging crews; Experience in forest insect and disease identification and management; Knowledge of the Washington State Forest Practice Rules and Adaptive Management Program and processes; Knowledge and experience working with Bureau of Indian Affairs guidelines and operations in forestry and fire related standards; Knowledge and experience in Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) policies and procedures
Regulations:
Prescribed Burn Boss (RXB2) training required. Any of the following are also preferred; Satisfactory performance as a Fire Boss, Single Resource; Satisfactory performance as a Incident Commander Type 4; Satisfactory performance as a Prescribed Burn Boss on a prescribed fire incident (RXB2); Successful completion of M-581, Fire Program Management; Be able to complete annual pack test for fire; Washington State Drivers License required and is able to get tribal auto insurance; CDL would be beneficial.
