If you are a person who loves to troubleshoot, repair mechanical problems, manufacture and rebuild parts then we may have the perfect position for you! The Spokesman-Review is currently recruiting for a full-time Machinist/Millwright to work in our production department.
What we want you to do
Learn the functions of, troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
Make and install parts for all production equipment.
Be self motivated and work independently.
Work Tuesday through Saturday, 7pm 3:30am (days & times may change according to production needs).
Who you are
Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 4 years experience working as a maintenance machinist in a production environment.
Have a working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and repair manuals.
Ability to setup and operate manual machine shop equipment to close tolerances (Lathes, Mills, ECT).
Understanding of disassembling, repair and/or machine/manufacture parts, and reassemble plant equipment.
Have welding skills to include Arc, MIG/TIG and gas.
Preference will be given to Journey level machinists/millwrights with AA degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school.
