Position: ONLINE/PRODUCTION SUPPORT SOFTWARE TECH

If you have proven experience supporting a dynamic website environment, then we invite you to come join our team at The Spokesman-Review. As our Online/Production Support Software Tech, you will provide support and problem recovery for the company online systems and website infrastructure. You will also assist with maintaining production hardware and software systems as needed. Are you ready? Here’s who we are looking for: Requirements and Skills: • Proficiency with GNU/Linux command-line tools and scripting. • Moderate experience administering web servers (Apache HTTPd) and SQL database. • Strong troubleshooting skills with server and storage arrays. • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with end users, vendors and other technical staff. • Have a minimum of a 2-year degree or higher; or equivalent experience in IT field. • Work a 40-Hour week and be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. • Work independently by displaying initiative and independent judgment. • Must be able to work under time sensitive restraints. • Must have a valid WA Driver’s License. Position: RETENTION SPECIALIST:

The Spokesman-Review is currently looking for a part-time Retention Specialist (19.5-hours per week) to be available to work varied hours between 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm Monday-Friday and an occasional Saturday. This position exists to increase customer satisfaction by addressing and resolving customer concerns, focusing on the retention of current subscribers via phone and written communication, and supporting product engagement opportunities including a variety of circulation promotional campaigns. The ideal candidate must have excellent verbal communication skills, 1-2 years customer service experience (will be tested) and basic skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Previous phone experience preferred. Starting pay is $10.50 per hour, plus a 401k match after 90 days of employment.
