Thompson has been the executive director of the Greater Spokane Substance Abuse Council since 1993. As director she heads several programs that seek to prevent and recognize drug and alcohol abuse so others are saved a tragedy.
Linda Thompson will address multiple issues related to substance abuse during the week themed: "What are the factors that lead to abuse." She’ll discuss risk factors that lead to drug and alcohol abuse; community programs aimed at preventing substance abuse; explain what families, schools and communities can do to help and describe telltale signs to look for in neighborhoods and people where substance abuse may be present.
