Murphy is chair of the Washington Council for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and executive director of Partners with Families and Children Spokane, a program sponsored by Deaconess and Sacred Heart medical centers for children who are abused, neglected, endangered by drugs or exposed to violence.
Murphy has worked for more than 30 years with children and families in centers that work together with law enforcement, Child Protective Services, the courts, the schools and other social and health treatment providers to strengthen support for families.
