I crashed the invite-only skating farewell bash thrown by sponsor Budweiser at The Davenport Hotel last night.
Here are some pics from the party:

"I need to find out how much it costs to get an ice bar," party attendee and local bar owner Tony Talotti said when he saw the impressive piece by local ice sculptor Dennis Fitzgerald.
The sculptor's company, Fitzgerald Ice, provided multiple ice sculptures and structures for the evening's festivities.

Budweiser girls served "martinis" made with Peels, Anheuser-Busch's new line of fruit-flavored malt beverage.

Fitzgerald made drink-mixing towers for the event. Bartenders poured Peels into an opening in the top, while revelers watched it spiral down into the martini glass (in a type of tunnel at the bottom).

Mayor Dennis Hession (left) sipped Columbia Crest Chardonnay and mingled with ice dancer Denis Petukhov (center) and others.

Gonzaga University engineering students David Happe and Josh Doherty enjoyed well-dressed celebrity status as the "Zamboni guys," though, technically, they don't drive Zambonis (they use another brand of ice resurfacing machine).
As they debated on whether to try to pick up the Budweiser girls, I asked what the "Zamboni line" might be. At that moment, the deejay was spinning, "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy," so Doherty suggested replacing "Cowboy" with "Zamboni."
Good luck, fellas.
Basically, the night added up to a lot of this:

Which then led to a lot of this:

The crowning moment for me was when two Budweiser girls tried to create a Super Bowl beer-commercial moment on the dancefloor to the tune of "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard (sorry guys, at the time, the room was too dark for a picture).
The scene seemed a little out of place, after the week Spokane spent in awe of grace on the ice. Maybe it was a sign that things haven't changed that much, after all.
